Teri Moren and the Indiana women's basketball program secured a massive recruiting victory on Friday morning.

5-star prospect Azy Jackson is one of the most coveted recruits in the 2027 cycle, and she has announced that she will be playing her college basketball in Bloomington. Jackson committed to Indiana over a list of contenders that included USC, Kansas, Cal, and North Carolina.

A 6'4" forward hailing from Suquamish, WA, Jackson is ranked as the No. 20 overall prospect in the 2027 SC Next 100. Her commitment to Indiana is a historic one, as he becomes the highest-ranked commit in Indiana women's basketball history.

"The most important thing for me in this recruiting journey has been discovering genuine relationships and connections," Jackson told ESPN regarding her commitment to the Hoosiers. "When it came to choosing Indiana, I really liked the small college town feel and the personal feeling of the visit. It felt genuine... and started to feel like family. And I knew, when I missed them when I was away, that it was the place I was supposed to be."

Jackson is home schooled, and plays her high school basketball at Bonney Lake High School in Washington. Last season as a junior, she averaged 14.6 points and 14.8 rebounds per game.

She suffered a torn ACL in July, and will not be able to play her senior season as she recovers. However, she is expected to enroll at Indiana this spring and be ready to roll for her freshman season in 2027-28.

Indiana WBB's 2027 recruiting class continues to get better and better

Moren and her staff have Indiana's 2027 recruiting class looking pretty solid. As a 5-star prospect, Jackson instantly becomes the headliner as the third member to join the class. But Brookeslee Colvin and Finley Parker are both impressive prospects in their own right.

Colvin is a 5'8" guard who is ranked as the No. 24 recruit in the SC Next 100. She averaged 30.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 5.4 steals per game as a junior at Couer d'Alene High School in Idaho. Colvin committed to Indiana last month on Sept. 22.

Finley is a 6'3" forward from Woodstock, GA. She is ranked as the No. 66 overall player in the SC Next 100, and is coming off a junior season at River Ridge High School that saw her average a strong 19.6 points per game while shooting over 40% from three-point range.

Moren, the all-time winningest head coach in Indiana women’s basketball history, is looking to lead the Hoosiers back to the NCAA Tournament in 2026-27. Indiana finished 18-14 and missed out on March Madness for the first time since 2017-18. The Hoosiers begin the new season on Tuesday, Nov. 3 with a home matchup against Florida Gulf Coast at Assembly Hall.
