On Friday morning , Decatur Central (IN) cornerback Kasmir Hicks selected his future school in the Indiana Hoosiers. He chose Indiana over Missouri, Louisville, Vanderbilt and Cincinnati.
Hicks also held offers from Illinois, Kansas, Michigan State, Northwestern, Purdue, Stanford, and Wisconsin amongst others.
Hicks, listed at 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, has started at the varsity level for Decatur Central since 2023 as a freshman. Kasmir Hicks who starts on offense, defense and special teams had four interceptions, two of them returned for touchdowns. 32 total tackles and 2 forced fumbles on the defensive side of the ball in13 games.
Hicks was special on the offensive side of the ball as well, he had 54 catches for 877 yards and 13 touchdown receptions. Hicks also ran for 479 yards, averaging 10.4 yards per carry, and had five rushing touchdowns.
He averaged 48.8 yards on kick returns and returned two for touchdowns. Hicks also averaged 20.3 yards on punt returns.
“I love what they have going,”Hicks told On3’s Steve Wiltfong on why he selected IU. “They’re building something special in Bloomington and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
According to On3Sports.com, Hicks is a three-star player and the No. 1 rated player in Indiana.
247Sports Composite ranks Hicks the No. 493 overall in the nation, he's the 41st rated cornerback and the No. 3 player in the state of Indiana.
Hicks is Indiana's third commitment of the off-season including four-star recruit running back/linebacker Henry Ohlinger and three-star interior offensive lineman Sam Simpson.
