Indiana football vs. No. 2 Ohio State best bet: Over 60.5 points

My best bet for Saturday’s matchup against the second-best team in the nation is taking the over 60.5 points combined between the Hoosiers and Buckeyes.

A $100 bet on over 60.5 points would potentially bring home a profit of $90.91. Personally, I don’t want to risk betting on the actual skill of this Indiana football team based on what we’ve seen over the past six weeks, especially playing against probably the best defense in the country.

The reason I’d say it’s safe to bet the over 60.5 points between the two teams is that Ohio State alone could go for 60+ points in this game. Not joking. In the past five matchups between the Buckeyes and Hoosiers, they have combined for 60+ points in each of those games. Ohio State has combined for 59 or more points in six of its nine games this season, while Indiana has combined for 59 or more points in four of its nine games.

Although my prediction for this game on Saturday has the Hoosiers covering this 39.5-point spread, I wouldn’t bet on that. It is definitely risky to think that Indiana can hang or even score against Ohio State on Saturday afternoon, so take that spread at your own risk.

Last week I only recommended betting the over 51.5 points against No. 16 Penn State, and look who was right on the mark. The Nittany Lions nearly reached 50 points themselves in the 45-14 domination, but the over covered thanks to back-to-back fourth-quarter touchdowns from Penn State.
