Indiana football vs. No. 16 Penn State best bet: Over 51.5 points

My best bet for this Week 10 matchup for the Hoosiers and Nittany Lions would be taking both teams to combine for over 51.5 points.

A $100 bet on over 51.5 points would potentially bring home a profit of $95.24. While that’s not a huge bargain, it is worth something when Penn State alone could reach 50+ points against this embarrassing football program.

The only thing I can confidently say about this upcoming game is that Penn State will likely run away with it, which gives the Hoosiers a chance to score cheap points at the end to make things not look as bad as they were. My guess is that the Nittany Lions will have at least 24 points by halftime and to say they would slow down would not be smart. Each of the past three matchups in Bloomington has resulted in 60+ points combined between the two teams.

Must Read. Kickoff & predictions vs. #16 Penn State. light

I can’t bring myself to bet on Indiana with the 13.5 points just because of what this team has shown over the past five weeks. The Hoosiers have lost three of their five games by 14 or more points, with two of their losses coming against Maryland and Rutgers by seven or less. IU lost to then-ranked No. 4 Michigan at home, 31-10 after being tied 10-10 at halftime.

Last week, I didn’t lose any money betting on the Hoosiers because we had a bye week. In Week 8, I went 1-for-2 again, being right on the money with the under 47.5 points but unfortunately off the mark with betting on Indiana football to beat one of the worst teams in the Big Ten.
