Indiana football vs. Rutgers: Week 8 Kickoff & prediction

Indiana football has now lost four straight games and three straight conference games after starting the season 3-0. The Hoosiers are praying for a victory against one of the worst teams in the Big Ten.

Tom Allen’s team got blown out at home by Rutgers last season, 38-3, losing his first ever game against the Scarlet Knights since taking over the Indiana football program in 2016. Rutgers has lost four consecutive conference games in six of their eight seasons since joining the Big Ten in 2014.

Indiana football vs. Rutgers prediction

While I believe Indiana football and Rutgers will be in a major defensive battle in this game, I predict that the Hoosiers will come out on top by the performance of the Indiana wide receivers and the leaders of the defensive unit. Tom Allen’s defense has held the Scarlet Knights to just 15.2 points per game since 2017.

I’m sticking with my initial final game-by-game prediction that I made earlier in the season for this Week 8 matchup. It’s a battle between two of the worst teams in the Big Ten and I highly doubt that they will both score 20+ points in this game. In the Scarlet Knights last game, they lost a tightly contested game to Nebraska, 14-13. Whoever scores two touchdowns first in this game, will end up winning.
