Key takeaways in the CFP Rankings:
1. ACC’s disaster scenario is nightmare that looms: If James Madison beats Troy in its conference title game, JMU and the American Conference champion would be ranked above the ACC champion if Duke beats No. 17 Virginia, meaning the ACC’s winner would fail to qualify as one of the five highest-ranked conference champions.
2. The backend teams: It seems as if Vandy, Texas and Utah have almost no shot at making the playoffs this season. Even with Texas huge win over A&M and Vandy's historical season they have too much ground to make up.
3. Alabama is almost a lock to make the playoffs regardless if they lose a third game against Georgia on Saturday in the SEC Championship.
