The Indiana Hoosiers are set to wrap up their non-conference schedule with a matchup against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Saturday afternoon. Curt Cignetti's squad is off to a roaring 2-0 start after picking up convincing wins over North Texas and Howard. On the other side, Western Kentucky is looking for any sort of positivity after starting the season 0-2 with lopsided losses to Nevada and No. 2 Georgia.
Indiana gets unwelcome eligibility news for 2 key defensive players in Week 3
Coming off a perfect 16-0 season that culminated in a historic National Championship, Indiana has now won 18 games in a row. Cignetti has to be pleased with what he's seen from his team so far this season, but as we know, he is never satisfied. With Big Ten play looming, the Hoosiers are looking to clean some things up in this contest before taking on Northwestern in the conference opener next Friday.
How to watch Indiana vs Western Kentucky: Channel, streaming, kick-off time, and more
If you don't plan on attending this Week 3 contest in person, the best way to watch the Hoosiers take on the Hilltoppers is via Peacock. The broadcast crew will consist of Dan Hicks (play-by-play), Yogi Roth (analyst), and Caroline Pineda (sideline reporter). Along with viewing the game on the main Peacock channel, you can also stream the action via the Peacock app.
Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m. ET. With a late afternoon start time, Hoosier fans will be able to watch the Cream and Crimson in full before the marquee game of the week, No. 7 LSU at No. 8 Ole Miss, begins at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Indiana enters Saturday's contest with an all-time record of 5-0 against Western Kentucky. WKU has given IU fits in their most recent meetings. Indiana escaped with a 33-30 win in 2022 and a 33-31 win in 2021. A lot has changed in Bloomington since then, as Indiana has taken a massive step forward (to say the least) under Cignetti's leadershup. While this game shouldn't be close, Cignetti knows that nothing is guaranteed and that his team still needs to go out there and perform.
Not surprisingly, Indiana is expected to roll to an emphatic victory. DraftKings Sportsbook lists the Hoosiers as massive 44.5-point favorites over the Hilltoppers. The total, or over/under, for this matchup is listed at 60.5.
Despite picking up wins by scores of 52-16 and 55-0, Indiana has yet to cover the spread this season. On the other side, WKU is also 0-2 against the spread coming off a 49-14 loss to Nevada and a 70-20 loss to Georgia last week. Now playing their third consecutive road game to start the season, WKU's gauntlet of an early-season schedule doesn't ease up today.
