It will be the first road game for Curt Cignetti and company, and Indiana's first matchup against Rutgers with Cignetti leading the way.

The Scarlet Knights are 1-3 on the season, and their lone win came last week against Howard by a score of 58-7. Greg Schiano's squad opened the new season with a shocking loss to UMass, and while they've shown some signs of life since then, they simply hasn't been able to get any sort of momentum going.

Kick-off for this Big Ten battle is set for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday night at SHI Stadium in Piscataway, NJ. The best way to watch the action unfold is via Big Ten Network. The broadcast crew will consists of Mark Followill handling the play-by-play duties and Rheett Lewis serving as the analyst. Caroline Hendershot will be reporting from the sideline. Indiana enters this contest ranked as the No. 6 team in the country via the AP Top-25 Poll. It's the same position that the Hoosiers held entering the season, although they were as high as No. 4 just a few weeks ago. Indiana has fallen one spot over each of the past two weeks, and is now the second-highest ranked Big Ten team behind No. 5 Ohio State.
Despite a rough start to the season, SHI Stadium could feature a loud atmosphere on Saturday night. The hunter has become the hunted, as the Hoosiers now have a target on their backs after winning the National Championship last season. This will be Indiana's first road game since winning it all, and figures to be Rutgers' Super Bowl.
The Hoosiers and Scarlet Knights met every year from 2014-23, but have not met since Oct. 21, 2023 when Rutgers picked up a 31-14 victory. The Scarlet Knights have won the last three meetings between these teams, but a lot has changed over the last couple of seasons. Indiana is coming off a perfect 16-0 season and National Championship, while Rutgers is still a Big Ten bottom dweller in Year 7 of Schiano's second stint. Schiano is just 15-41 in Big Ten play since returning to Piscataway in 2020.
The Hoosiers are unsurprisingly favored by a wide margin. Specifically, Indiana is favored by 24.5-points on DraftKings Sportsbook at the time of this publishing. Indiana is 0-4 against the spread this season while Rutgers is 1-3 against the number.
