Former Hoosier basketball star Trayce Jackson-Davis left Bloomington as Indiana's all-time leader in rebounds (1,143) and blocked shots (270). He also ranks third on the program's all-time scoring list with 2,258 career points, and third in triple-doubles with 50. After such a strong collegiate career, Jackson-Davis has played 182 games in the NBA over the last three seasons with the Warriors and Raptors.
This coming weekend, Jackson-Davis is set to return to Bloomington for the season-opening football game against North Texas. Only this time, the Hoosier great won't be donning the Cream and Crimson. Instead, he will be repping the Mean Green at Memorial Stadium.
Trayce-Jackson Davis set to support brother Tayven on Saturday in Bloomington
The starting QB for North Texas is Tayven Jackson, who is the younger brother of none other than Trayce Jackson-Davis. Speaking with ESPN's Sam Acho on his podcast earlier this week, Jackson-Davis was asked about his allegiances for Saturday. TJD promptly stated that he will be in attendance supporting his brother and wearing UNT colors.

Tayven is also a former Hoosier, as he spent two seasons with the IU football program in 2023 and 2024. In total, Jackson appeared in 13 games and threw for 1,263 yards with 6 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while with the Hoosiers. He also added 52 yards and 4 scores on the ground.

Jackson spent last season as the starting QB at UCF, throwing for a career-high 2,151 yards and 10 touchdowns while also rushing for 85 yards and 3 touchdowns. He now joins a UNT program entering a new era under head coach Neal Brown, Jackson's first game with his new team presents plenty of challenges.
Indiana defense looking to spoil Tayven Jackson's return to Bloomington
With his older brother looking on, Jackson has an extremely tough assignment on his hands. Indiana's defense was among the best in the country last season, and is primed for another monster season in 2026.
On the defensive front, the Hoosiers return four of their top-five sack leaders from last year's title team. That kind of elite returning production is extremely valuable in today's era of college football. Furthermore, Indiana welcomes a pair of solid transfer additions in Tobi Osunsanmi and Chiddi Obiazor on the edges. All in all, the Hoosier pass rush is capable of making life very uncomfortable for Jackson.
Jackson threw 8 interceptions in 11 games at UCF last season, which IU defensive coordinator Bryant Haines has certainly taken note of. Haines led the Hoosier defense to forcing 30 total turnovers last season, which ranked 3rd in the nation. Looking to force turnovers, don't be surprised if Haines dials up the pressure on Jackson early and often.
