Three-Star Class of 2026 Athlete Commits to Indiana Football

Indiana football has landed a commitment from three-star recruit and athlete Trevor Gibbs according to his social media account earlier today.

Gibbs is set to take an official visit to Indiana in Bloomington the weekend of June 6th and make a commitment after mid June but nixed that by announcing his verbal today. Gibbs however was in Bloomington in late March for a spring practice visit.

"It was good seeing the coaches and watching the players compete," he told Peegs.com when asked what he liked about the visit to IU. "The hospitality provided by everyone there and the energy from the players stood out."

Indiana native Trevor Gibbs, committed to the Hoosiers over offers from Illinois, Iowa, Purdue, Boston College, Cincinnati, Ball State, Bowling Green, Miami (OH), Toledo, and Western Michigan.

Gibbs is a 6-foot-4, 225-pound athlete from Crown Point High School in Indiana. He is rated as a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 44 linebacker in the class of 2026. He is also the No. 5 overall prospect from the state of Indiana according to the 247Sports Composite

The Indiana commit is exceptional on both sides of the ball as a junior this past fall, he started at linebacker and tight end.

Gibbs recorded 35 receptions and 600 yards for nine touchdowns as well as 60 tackles, three interceptions and one forced fumble in 2024 as a junior.

Indiana also recently landed in state recruits Decatur Central cornerback Kasmir Hicks and Franklin Community High defensive lineman Blake Smythe.

They have also landed three-star defensive tackle Rodney White, three-star linebacker Jacob Savage, three-star interior offensive lineman Sam Simpson, four-star running back/linebacker Henry Ohlinger and three-star defensive back Lawrence "Jay" Timmons to their 2026 class.
