Goodyear, Arizona native Camren Hamiel out of Desert Edge High is down to four schools Nebraska, Penn State, Texas A&M and Oregon but is still set to visit the Indiana Hoosiers on a official visit.
Hamiel is a rising prospect who is set to enter his senior season with a chance to increase his recruiting stock. The four-star cornerback is 6-foot, 180-pounds, and can also play at free safety and the nickel back (slot) positions at defensive back making him very valuable at the next level.
Hamiel is ranked as the No. 225 overall prospect in the class of 2026, he also comes in ranked as the 21st best cornerback and the No.1 prospect from the state of Arizona per 247Sports Composite
Hamiel is the No. 263 overall prospect and No. 24 corner in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Sports Industry Rankings
"“I plan to commit around the middle of summer after my official visits,” he previously said. “When I finish the visits, I will sit down with my family, coach and agent, then talk it over and that will lead to my commitment.”"Hamiel told On3 Sports
In 2024, Hamiel had 50 total tackles, three interceptions, three pass breakups, a sack and two blocked field goals.
Outside of his top schools and Indiana, Hamiel also drew interest and offers from Alabama, Auburn, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Iowa, Iowa State, Rutgers, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon State, Ohio State, San Diego State, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, UNLV, Utah, Vandy, Wisconsin and BYU.
The Arizona native will head to Penn State next weekend and then see Nebraska (June 6), Oregon (June 13) and A&M (June 20) next month. A commitment will likely come after for the blue-chip defensive back. His visit to Bloomington, Indiana is set for the last weekend of June (27th).
