Indiana football is one of the top five schools for 2026 defensive lineman Cameron McHaney from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

McHaney is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Indianapolis Lutheran before transferring to national powerhouse IMG Academy last fall.

The 6-foot-1, 315-pound defensive lineman will be in Bloomington next month for an official visit at Indiana. He will announce his commitment on July 1st at IMG Academy.

As a junior last season McHaney had 81 tackles, 13 tackles for lost, 1 forced fumble and 1 sack. McHaney stands at 6-foot-2, 315-pounds and is rated as a consensus four-star recruit.

He is ranked as the No. 211 overall player in the class of 2026, he is also the No. 24 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 37 player in the state of Florida.

Indiana has the best odds to land McHaney with a 35.8 percent chance, Purdue with a 23.7 percent chance and Louisville 20.3 percent chance according to On3 Sports.

The 4-star also has a visit with Vanderbilt on May 30, Purdue on June 13, and Indiana on June 20.

McHaney isn’t just a football standout – he’s a well-rounded athlete. As a sophomore, he qualified for the Indiana state track meet in the discus throw, placing 13th overall. That combination of size, power and explosiveness makes him a particularly intriguing prospect for any program.
