The Indiana men's basketball alum Burke Scott, a former Hoosier point and shooting guard was also a legendary high school coach in the state of Indiana before passing away at the age of 92.
The Tell City, Indiana native played for legendary Hoosier coach Branch McCracken from 1952-1956, starting at point guard for McCracken's second national championship team in 1953.
Scott started at guard for Indiana in each of the three seasons he was eligible (freshman were ineligible to play in 1952 because of the Korean War). He averaged 8.2 points per game shooting 64.5 % percent from the field for the 1953 title team.
