Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced today that the team has re-signed Eric Gordon in a recent press release.
The 17-year veteran originally signed with the Philadelphia 76ers back on July, 10th of 2024 and averaged 6.8 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 39 games (13 starts) last season.
A member of the Bahamian National Team at the 2024 Olympic Qualifying Tournament, Gordon reached the 15-point mark in two of the team’s four games, averaging 14.0 points on 43.9-percent shooting (43.5% 3FG), 2.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in FIBA competition.
Eric Gordon spent one season at Indiana, with the HoosiersGordon averaged 20.9 points (which lead the Big Ten), 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, and shot 43.3 percent from the field, 33.7 percent from behind the arc and 83.4 percent at the free throw line. He also earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year, first team Big Ten honors and was named third-team All-American.
At 36 years old and coming off wrist surgery, Gordon role could diminish with the 76ers in 2025-26.
So far this offseason, the Sixers have reportedly signed former Brooklyn Nets forward Trendon Watford, also Andre Drummound and Kelly Oubre Jr have each opted into their player options. Forward Guerschon Yabusele left for the New York Knicks in free agency, all according to ESPN.
The Philadelphia 76ers did draft VJ Edgecomb with the No. 3 pick and bring back Jared McCain, Paul George, Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid to the fold, if they stay healthy they have a chance to compete again for an Eastern Conference championship.
