ESPN megastar and CFB analyst Pat McAfee picked against the home team for the first time this season when he picked the No. 7 Indiana Hoosiers to upset the No.3 Oregon Ducks in Eugene this morning on College Gameday.
However, the reason Pat McAfee picked against Oregon wasn't because he truly believes that Indiana is the better football team, but simply because his wife (Samantha) is an Indiana alum and is a Hoosier through and through, so that in turn makes him a Hoosier through and through.
"“I love Oregon. I love Dan Lanning, I was shirtless with that man this morning,” McAfee said. “But my wife is a Hoosier through and true, and so am I, baby.”"
"Whenever you think about Curt Cignetti's team from JMU and IUP and stuff like that, his teams, they don't get a chance to win these types of games. Indiana last year was certainly a good fairy tale story, but whenever they ran into Ohio State, they (bleep) the bed. And whenever they played Notre Dame, same damn thing - couldn't get a stop.
"In the biggest win of Cignetti's career, the Indiana Hoosiers tell the world, 'We're for real.' I'll see you both in the College Football Playoffs -- Indiana gets a win today."
McAfee typically goes with the energy of the home fans, but that’s not the decision he made this weekend.

McAfee was the only member of College GameDay’s panel to pick Indiana on Saturday in Eugene. Kirk Herbstreit, Nick Saban, Desmond Howard, and celebrity guest picker Sabrina Ionescu all went with the Oregon Ducks who are favorite by 7.5 to win this ball game per FanDuel.
Indiana and Oregon are both ranked in the top ten and 5-0 on the season and are looking to remain undefeated on the season pushing to a Big Ten title and a CFB Playoff berth. Both the Hoosiers and Ducks made the College Football Playoffs last season.
