OG Anunoby ranked in ESPN’s NBA player rankings for 2024-25
ESPN’s 14th annual top 100 player ranking has come out for the 2024-25 season and former Indiana Hoosier forward OG Anunoby has made the cut.
The New York Knick was ranked right outside the top 50 at No. 51 on the list.
Anunoby was an immediate fit in New York after joining the Knicks via trade. New York smashed opponents by 21.8 points per 100 possessions with him on the court.
The 6-7, 232-pound small forward was an elite marksman last time out, shooting 48.8 percent from the field and 39.4 percent from distance.
He averaged 14.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.1 steals, 1.7 blocks and 1.5 assists per game while also being a perennial all-defensive player.
Staying healthy and on the court during the playoffs has been the mainly problem for Anunoby in his career. He has played 70 games one time, as a rookie. He missed 29 games in the shortened 2020-21 season and 39 in the following year. He missed a grand total of 32 games this season with his two freak elbow injuries. He also missed the entire 2019 NBA Finals with the Raptors and, of course, the final five games of the Knicks-Pacers series.
All-Stars Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges to go along with superstar Jalen Brunson will make the Knicks a top contender in the Eastern conference to contend with the defending NBA champions Boston Celtics in 2024-25.
In two years at Indiana, Anunoby averaged 6.8 points per game, 3.5 rebounds in 44 starts before suffering season-ending injury as a sophomore. He was drafted in the 1st round of the 2017 NBA draft by the Toronto Raptors No. 23 overall.
