After a disappointing 2023-24 season, Indiana is back in the Associated Press top 25 poll to begin the 2024-25 season.
The Hoosiers are ranked No. 17 in the preseason AP top 25 poll released Monday.
Joining IU in the preseason poll from the Big Ten are Purdue (14), UCLA (22) and Rutgers (25).
The Hoosiers are ranked No. 14 by the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook,No. 15 by Lindy’s Sports, No. 30 by BartTorvik.com and No. 39 by KenPom.com.
Indiana plays its first exhibition on Sunday, October 27 at Tennessee.
The Hoosiers open the regular season at home on Wednesday, November 6 at Assembly Hall against SIU-Edwardsville.

Indiana started the last season at No. 49 and finished at No. 91. The Hoosiers missed the NCAA tournament for the first time in three seasons under Mike Woodson.
Indiana returns starters Trey Galloway, Mackenzie Mgbako and Malik Reneau, along with contributors Gabe Cupps and Anthony Leal.
