Former Hoosier OG Anunoby has played a massive role in the Knicks' success so far this postseason. New York defeated Atlanta 4-2 in the opening round, and currently holds a 2-0 lead over Philadelphia. It's fair to say that the Knicks would not be in the position they are in if it wasn't for Anunoby's stellar play.

This incoming recruiting class could change everything for Darian DeVries and Indiana

Anonoby is New York's second-leading scorer in the playoffs, as he is averaging a strong 21.4 points per game. He has been New York's most efficient scorer, as the 6'7" 240-pound guard is shooting an impressive 64% from the floor and nearly 60% from three-point range. Furthermore, he is also leading the Knicks by playing 35.3 minutes per game.

But as the Knicks prepare to head to Philadelphia for a pivotal Game 3 on Friday night, Anunoby's status is still up in the air.

OG Anunoby listed as questionable for Game 3 on Friday night

With less than three minutes to go in Game 2, Anunoby was walking gingerly after a dunk attempt and motioned to the bench that he needed to come out of the game. He received medical attention and would not return to the contest. After the game, it was reported that Anunoby had suffered a hamstring strain in his right leg.

According to ESPN, the hamstring strain is not believed to be serious, which allows Anunoby to be listed as day-to-day. He remains questionable for Friday night's Game 3 in Philadelphia.

Anunoby has been on fire this postseason, and if he is unable to suit up in Game 3, it would undoubtedly be a significant loss for the Knicks. New York is in an offensive groove right now, and that rhythm could be thrown off without Anunoby in the mix.

With that being said, it would be surprising to see the Knicks push the envelope and rush Anunoby back to the court. Given his value and postseason scoring prowess, the Knicks will make sure all boxes are checked before he returns to action. At this time, it appears that we won't get an official update regarding Anunoby's Game 3 status until closer to game time this evening.

NBA fans in The Hoosier State are still probably upset that the Pacers endured such a rough season, but watching Anunoby show out on the biggest stage has to bring a smile to Indiana basketball fans.
