The Indiana Hoosiers put forth a strong showing in Saturday's season opener, defeating North Texas 52-16. There were plenty of positive takeaways from the victory, and among them was the eye-popping Hoosier debut for WR Nick Marsh.
Marsh was one of the biggest names in Indiana's top-ranked transfer portal class, and wasted no time making a stellar first impression with the Cream and Crimson.

The first two minutes of the season opener could not have gone better for the Hoosiers. Lee Beebe Jr. took the opening kickoff 67 yards deep into UNT territory to set the IU offense up in a great spot. After a pair of short runs from Turbo Richard, it was Marsh's time to shine.
On 3rd-and 5, Marsh brought in a 15-yard touchdown pass from Josh Hoover in one-handed fashion. Marsh's elite athleticism and strong hands were on full display, sending the Memorial Stadium crowd into a frenzy.

Marsh came to Indiana via the transfer portal after two seasons at Michigan State. He was the Spartans' leading receiver in each of those seasons, totaling 100 catches for 1,311 yards and 9 touchdowns.

However, the Michigan State passing attack during that time was among the worst in the Big Ten . Looking for a better situation, Marsh found what he was searching for in Bloomington. Marsh is now poised to be a focal point of the IU offense this season, and his electrifying skill set makes him a highlight reel waiting to happen.

Last year, Omar Cooper Jr. and Elijah Sarratt made for one of the most lethal WR combos in all of college football. Cooper hauled in 69 catches for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns, while Sarratt racked up 65 catches for 830 yards and 15 touchdowns. Together, their respective campaigns played a vital role in Indiana's run to a national title.
Heading into the new season, Becker and Marsh were projected to be Indiana's next great WR duo. Through one game, that vision is coming true. Becker put forth a monster showing in the season opener by collecting 4 catches for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He picked up right where he left off last season, and it's clear that he already has great chemistry with Hoover.
Marsh's highlight-reel touchdown catch in the first few minutes of the game showed that he is ready to shine in Bloomington. He had just one more catch throughout the rest of the contest, but the game was in hand and Indiana threw the ball just 16 times on the day. Bigger stat lines are coming for Marsh.
Together, Becker and Marsh have a great chance to be college football's next lethal WR combo. As the season moves on, both should be expected to be focal points of the Hoosier passing attack. IU fans are fired up to see what they can do.
