Senior forward Luke Goode was actively pursuing a waiver for 5th-year of eligibility to come back to Indiana, but that wavier was denied by the NCAA today in a ruling according to The Herald Times

Goode's medical waiver centered around the 2022-23 season, when he broke his foot in the preseason. The 6-foot-7 forward Goode was seeking to reclaim his sophomore season, when he played just 10 games for the University of Illinois due to that injury.

"“Thank you God for the journey through highs and lows,” he wrote. “Can’t wait for what’s next!”"

He started his career at Illinois where he spent three seasons. The Fort Wayne, Indiana native transferred to Indiana for the 2024-25 season where he averaged 9.1 points and 3.1 rebounds a game while shooting 39.2 percent on three point range and 39.2 percent shooting from the field.

Goode’s father Craig, and uncle, former Indiana and NFL quarterback Trent Green, played football for the Hoosiers, so he's always had Hoosier in his blood.

Here is what Goode said before applying for his medical hardship this off-season

"“I’d do anything I can to play in the candy stripes again,” Goode said."

“It’s more than special to be able to come represent this jersey,” Goode said. “So if I’m fortunate to get that year, I’d love nothing more than to represent this university once again.”

Indiana currently has 12 scholarship players on its 2025-26 roster, all 12 players are new additions to the Indiana basketball program, including the whole coaching staff headlined by new head coach Darian DeVries.
