Tracking incoming players is an exciting part of college football fandom. In today's day and age, it is easier than ever to follow the next round of future Hoosiers. One Hoosier commit that continues to shine and build plenty of hype heading into his collegiate career is 2027 WR Branden Sharpe.
Playing for Brownsburg High School, the No. 1 team in the state, Sharpe is a 4-star prospect who committed to Indiana back in May. He has put up some eye-popping numbers to begin his senior season, and his latest achievement has Indiana football fans fired up for what's to come.
Indiana commit Brande Sharpe breaks Brownsburg all-time receiving record in electric fashion
On Friday night, Sharpe became the all-time leading receiver in the history of Brownsburg High School. The catch that sealed the deal came on an eye-popping 21-yard touchdown.

Sharpe ended the night with 5 catches for 88 yards, and his efforts helped Brownsburg to an emphatic 48-7 win over Avon. Brownsburg moves to 4-0 on the season and is ranked as the top team in the state of Indiana and the No. 14 team in the country. Through 4 games, Sharpe has collected 21 catches for 382 yards and 5 touchdowns. In his high school career, Sharpe now has 148 catches for 2,723 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Throughout his short time at the helm of the Hoosier football program, Cignetti has shown a great ability in identifying and developing WR talent. Most recently, Omar Cooper Jr. and Elijah Sarratt made up one of the most lethal WR combos in all of college football last season. After helping lead Indiana to a historic National Championship, Cooper was selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Jets, while Sarratt went in the fifth round to the Ravens.

Current Hoosier wideout Charlie Becker is already garnering plenty of first round hype, and could even be in the Heisman conversation after this sensational start to the season. Michigan State transfer Nick Marsh is getting rolling as well, and he could be poised for career-highs across the board.
Sharpe also has a chance to form a strong WR duo with Lawrence North star Monshun Sales. Back in July, Sales became the first 5-star high school commit in the history of Indiana football. He was one of the most sought-after prospects in the entire country, and Cignetti was able to win his commitment over a list of competitors that included Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, and Texas. Looking ahead, Indiana football fans have a lot to be excited about once Sharpe and Sales both make their way to Bloomington.
