Welp, things didn't go according to plan for the Indiana Hoosiers on Friday night against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In the first game of the College Football Playoff, the Hoosiers traveled to South Bend and they were hoping to pull off an upset.
That didn't happen, with Notre Dame dominating play from start to finish in this one. In the end, Notre Dame posted a 27-17 victory and things were never close. Indiana fans were disappointed by the result and countless people have been calling them out after the loss.
The list includes Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin? Unfortunately, that's the case, as Kiffin watched the game and then decided to rip into the CFP committee. Per Kiffin, Indiana should have never been in the final 12 in the first place. Should a team like Ole Miss have been in instead?
Lane Kiffin slammed the CFP committee on Twitter after Notre Dame beat Indiana
Kiffin and Ole Miss finished No. 14 in the CFP rankings. As you can see from his social media post, he's still a bit bitter that the Hoosiers were in the tourney and he had to watch from home. With that said, come on, Lane.
Indiana 100 percent belonged in the CFP. The job Curt Cignetti was able to get done this campaign was quite impressive, with Kurtis Rourke also putting on a show throughout 2024. Indiana only lost one game - falling to Ohio State at The Shoe. Kiffin can complain all he wants, but there's no question the Hoosiers deserved their spot over his squad.
