It's been a busy week for the Indiana Football program. Not only did fall camp get started on Wednesday, but several late roster additions have been announced.
Last week, court ruling from a U.S. District Court judge in Colorado gave athletes in the high school Class of 2022 an additional year of eligibility. The ruling from Judge Charlotte Sweeney granted a preliminary injunction to plaintiffs challenging the NCAA’s new age-based eligibility rule, and multiple Hoosiers have already taken advantage of the new opportunity.

Earlier this week, it was reported that EDGE rusher Stephen Daley will be returning to Indiana for one more season of college football. He has already suited up for the Hoosiers this week during fall camp.
Now, another Hoosier has announced his intentions to return to Bloomington.
Kellan Wyatt returning to Indiana for 2026-27 season
According to Pete Thamel, Indiana EDGE rusher Kellan Wyatt has been added to the Hoosiers' roster for the upcoming 2026 season. Since he never redshirted and never signed a professional contract, Wyatt was among the players who gained an additional year of eligibility last week. Now, he is set to come back for his fifth season of college football.

Wyatt spent two seasons at Maryland before transferring to Indiana last season. He started 7 games before suffering a season-ending knee injury against Michigan State. In those contests, Wyatt racked up 27.0 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. In his collegiate career, Wyatt has 107 tackles, 23.0 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, and a pair of forced fumbles to his name over 42 total games.
His return to Bloomington bolsters an already loaded Hoosier defensive front for 2026.
Indiana's defensive front has elite talent and depth
Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers have an embarrassment of riches in the defensive front-7. All five of Indiana's top sack leaders from last season are back, and a well-rounded group of transfer portal additions make this an extremely dangerous group with plenty of potential to put up monster numbers.
With returning players like Stephen Daley, Tyrique Tucker, Mario Landino, Rolijah Hardy, and Isaiah Jones, now Wyatt, Indiana boasts a ton of returning production to the defensive front. Furthermore, transfer portal adds such as Tobi Osunsanmi, Chiddi Obiazor, and Josh Burnham add even more talent and proven experience to Indiana's front-7. No matter how you slice it, this group is loaded.
With so much potential and proven talent to go around, it will be interesting to see how Cignetti and defensive coordinator Bryant Haynes put all the pieces together. In our pre-fall camp depth chart projection, we listed Tucker and Landino at the defensive tackle positions with Osunsanmi and Obiazor at the EDGE spots. With both Daley and Wyatt now back into the mix at the EDGE positions, some fall camp battles figure to take place for the starting gigs.
After putting up historic numbers last season which included leading the country in total turnovers created with 30, the Hoosier defense is primed to find plenty of success once again in 2026.
