The Indiana Hoosiers women's basketball team opened their 2024 first round with a Battle 4 Atlantis win, 72-62 against Columbia on Saturday evening in The Bahamas.

Junior guard Yarden Garzon, gave IU her first double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds on her 21st birthday. Garzon shot 42.9% from 3-point range and was perfect from the free-throw line.

Lilly Meiser was also dominate for Indiana with 20 points and eight rebounds.

“She was fantastic around the rim and very consistent in scoring the ball for us,” Indiana coach Teri Moren said. “I think Lilly is a kid that because of the minutes she’s getting and how much we need her she’s going to continue to step up and answer the bell.”

Chloe Moore-McNeil and Sydney Parrish both also were solid with 10 points for the Hoosiers on Saturday.

It was the second straight win for IU after they beat Stanford last weekend.

The (3-2) Hoosiers take on No. 18 Baylor today in the second round of the Battle 4 Atlantis. The winner will play in the championship game at noon Monday.
