Indiana Softball Selected as National No. 3 Seed in 2025 NCAA Tournament

Led by All Big-Ten Conference outfielder, senior Taylor Minnick the Indiana Hoosiers softball program will take on the Oklahoma State Cowgirls in the Fayetteville Regional played at Arkansas hosted by the Arkansas Razorbacks.

It’s the third straight time the Hoosiers have been selected for the NCAA Tournament. The regional will take place from May 16-18

No. 1 seed Arkansas will play against No. 4 seed Saint Louis at 6:30 p.m and Indiana takes on Oklahoma State at 4pm ET on Friday May 16 via IU Athletics

Indiana (33-18) went 1-1 at the single-elimination Big Ten Tournament versus in state rival Purdue. Indiana beat Washington 2-0 and then lost to No. 10 ranked UCLA 5-4 last Thursday.

Oklahoma State (33-18) finished fourth in the Big 12 this season.

The regional round is a four-team, double-elimination tournament played over three days. Indiana enters the postseason with a 33-18 record and reached the quarterfinals in the Big Ten Tournament.

Outfielder Taylor Minnick was first team All-Big Ten and named all conference for a third year in a row, also winning the Big Ten batting title with a .470 batting average. Minnick also hit 16 home runs, had 63 RBI, and led the Big Ten with 24 doubles.

The co-star of the Indiana softball team is catcher Avery Parker, she was second team All-Big Ten this season. Parker hit 11 home runs, had 58 RBI, and batting .401 from the plate.

With the quarterfinal's tournament loss, the Hoosiers underperformed from last season but are still a major threat to beat Oklahoma State and Arkansas with their star power with the previously mentioned Avery Parker, Taylor Minnick, Kinsey Mitchell and Brianna Copeland.

Indiana softball coach Shonda Stanton is in her eighth season in Bloomngton with a 203-147 overall record.
