Indiana senior safety DJ Warnell Jr has entered the transfer portal, per reports. On3 was the first to report the news.

Warnell began his career with UCLA where he spent the first two seasons of his college career. Appearing in 16 games where he recorded 11 tackles, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble

He transferred to Arizona in 2022 but was injured most of the season but in 2023, he played in 13 games and made 15 total tackles and three sacks.

In 2024 this season, Warnell played only 91 total snaps for Indiana as both a backup safety and on special teams. He recored four total tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack and one pass breakup before entering the transfer portal.

Warnell transferred in during the spring portal window, so he spent just five months with the program. He was expected to provide depth in the secondary, but he was unable to earn a role in the first half of the season.

Warnell is the fourth Indiana player to enter the transfer portal despite their 6-0 start and No. 18 ranking.
