A temporary agreement with the NCAA allows Louis Moore to play through the Big Ten opener against No. 9 Illinois
Indiana sixth-year senior and starting safety Louis Moore will be eligible to play against Indiana State this weekend and the No. 9 Illinois Fighting Illini the next two weeks, according to multiple reports. Moore, the courts and the NCAA agreed to push back their next court hearing until Wednesday, Sept. 24. The NCAA will not take any action against Moore if he plays in Indiana's upcoming two games before the next court hearing, per the terms of the agreement.

A hearing was set for Sept. 10 after Judge Dale Tillery extended Moore’s temporary restraining order to allow for discovery to take place at the request of Moore’s attorney Brian P. Lauten. Lauten requested documents regarding the NCAA’s business in Texas.
The parties have agreed to move the Sept. 10 hearing so that “the hearing on the Application for Temporary Injunction and Special Appearance will occur at the same date and time... before September 24, 2025.”
Moore has started both of Indiana's games during the 2025 season, against Old Dominion and Kennesaw State. The senior has 14 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and one pass breakup so far this season. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound safety leads Indiana in tackles and interceptions, and ranks second in tackles for loss.
Moore originally signed with the Hoosiers in 2022 after attending Navarro (Texas) College from 2019-21 (the 2020 season was canceled in the COVID-19 pandemic season). He then returned to Bloomington after spending last season playing at Ole Miss.
Moore played in 24 regular season games, he had 93 tackles, 3 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, 2 touchdowns and 3 forced fumbles in his two years in Bloomington.
At Ole Miss, Moore had 33 tackles (14 solo) with one pass breakup in 10 games last season.
