Indiana women's basketball head coach Teri Moren has won another gold medal, leading USA Basketball to the gold in the FIBA U19 Women's World Cup. Indiana forward Zania Socka-Ngueman was also part of the USA championship squad, earning her first gold medal with USA Basketball.

The U19 team went 3-0 in group play with wins over Korea (134-53), Hungary (79-49) and Israel (114-48). USA beat France in the quarterfinals, 70-65 win over and also defeated Spain 70-68 in the semifinals.

Teri Moren clinched her fourth gold medal as a USA Basketball coach following the USA's 88-76 win over Australia in the championship game.

Last summer, Hoosier head coach Teri Moren helped coached the USA U18 Women's National Team to a gold medal in the AmeriCup. In 2022 and 2023, Moren served as an assistant coach for two Gold Medal-winning teams. Her first time coaching the USA Basketball came in 2021 as an assistant coach for the 2021 Women's U19 National Team Trials.

Socka-Ngueman, helped off the bench with USA Basketball, played in all seven games off the bench. The 6-foot-3 forward and incoming transfer averaged 3.1 points and 3.3 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per game while shooting 8-of-15 from the field, 1-of-1 from 3-point range and 5-of-7 at the free throw line.

The Silver Springs, Maryland native Socka-Nguemen has three years of eligibility remaining after spending her freshman season at UCLA.

Moren is Indiana's all-time winningest coach, a two-time Big Ten Coach of the Year and the 2023 Associated Press Coach of the Year. All of those accomplishments come in 11 seasons at Indiana and she will enter her 12th in 2025-26.

Moren is coming off a season where Indiana women's basketball made the second round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to South Carolina in Columbia. IU had an overall record of 20-13 and 10-8 in the Big Ten Conference.
