The Indiana-Purdue rivalry is one of the best in all of college basketball. Over the years, the in-state rivals have built a rivalry defined by passion, intensity, and games that often leave a lasting mark on the Big Ten race.
For fans of Hoosier basketball, it's always a good day to beat Purdue. With that in mind, here is a look back at some of the most memorable wins the Hoosiers have had over Purdue on the hardwood throughout the course of the last decade and a half.
February 4, 2023: Indiana 79 vs No. 1 Purdue 74
Back on February 4, 2023, Purdue came to Bloomington ranked as the No. 1 team in the country. In 216 prior games against Indiana in the history of this historic rivalry, this was the first time that Purdue had been ranked No. 1 when facing IU. The Hoosiers made sure to spoil the Boilers' reign at the top of the rankings.

Trayce Jackson-Davis led the way for Indiana, as he scored 25 points and pulled down 7 rebounds to lead the Hoosiers to a 79-74 victory. It was the 4th time in Indiana program history that the Hoosiers took down a No. 1-ranked team at Assembly Hall. The win gave IU its first win over a top-ranked team since defeating Michigan in Bloomington 10 years prior.
February 25, 2023: Indiana 79 at No. 5 Purdue 71
Just a few weeks after taking down No. 1 Purdue at Assembly Hall, the Hoosiers traveled north to Mackey Arena to face the Boilers again. Purdue was now ranked No. 5 in the country. Behind a career-high 35 points from Jalen Hood-Schifino, Indiana rolled to a 79-71 win. Indiana completed the season sweep and picked up its second Top-5 win over the Boilermakers in the span of a couple weeks. The win also snapped a 7-game losing streak at Mackey Arena for the Hoosiers.
January 27, 2026: Indiana 75 vs No. 12 Purdue 67
The first time Darian DeVries faced Purdue, he made sure to make a statement. The Hoosiers raced out to a 40-28 lead at halftime over the 12th-ranked Boilermakers and never looked back. Lamar Wilkerson led IU with 19 points while Nick Dorn added 18 of his own. The win came on the same night that the National Championship-winning Indiana football program was honored on the court before the game. It was certainly a great day to be a Hoosier.
January 30, 2013: No. 3 Indiana 97 at Purdue 60
One of the most dominating wins for Indiana in the rivalry against Purdue came back on January 30, 2013. Indiana rolled to an emphatic 97-60 win in what became IU's largest road victory against Purdue in series history. All five Hoosier starters scored in the double-figures, with Cody Zeller leading the way with 19 points. Christian Watford and Victor Oladipo each had 17 while Yogi Ferrell had 11 and Jordan Hulls had 10. What a great Hoosier team that was!
