Well, things got done here pretty darn quickly for the Indiana Hoosiers. Earlier in the day on Tuesday, reports dropped stating that West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries had emerged as a top candidate to take over for the men's basketball program.
This came as a bit of a surprise, as DeVries just joined West Virginia, wrapping up his first season with the team. In today's college sports landscape, though, coaches move at the drop of a hat. That's exactly what's going to be happening for DeVries, as Jeff Goodman is reporting that Indiana is expected to hire him as its new head coach to replace Mike Woodson:

West Virginia's Darian DeVries will reportedly become the new Indiana head coach
DeVries is quickly working his way up the coaching ranks. He spent six seasons with Drake, powering the team to three NCAA Tournament appearances and two conference tournament titles. Because of his success, West Virginia was excited to hire him and have him build things for the long haul.
The Mountaineers were a bit inconsistent this year, but injuries didn't help. Despite that, West Virginia was still in a great spot to make the NCAA Tournament. It was no question a major shocker when they didn't hear their name called during Selection Sunday and North Carolina did.
The same can be said for Indiana, as plenty of people remain livid that the Hoosiers were left out and the Tar Heels are in the field. What made things even worse is that it ended Woodson's time in Bloomington, with the Hoosiers deciding to turn down an NIT invite.
Now, the athletic department is fully focused on getting Indiana hoops back to an elite level. The decision has been made to have DeVries to be in charge of getting things back to where they need to be. Countless West Virginia fans are livid with him bolting town after just one season, but when Indiana comes calling, you've got to pick up.
