Indiana ranked No. 25 in Baseball America college baseball preseason poll

The Indiana Hoosiers baseball program is ranked No. 25 in the 2025 Baseball America Preseason Poll

The Indiana Hoosiers baseball program has earned a preseason ranking in Baseball America's preseason poll at No. 25.

Texas A&M is No. 1 in the poll, followed by the LSU Tigers at No. 2, then Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, Texas, Clemson, Duke and Oregon State round out the Top 10. Other Big Ten teams included in the Baseball America Top 25 are at No. 12 Oregon and Nebraska right above Indiana at No. 24 overall.

Indiana is led by preseason Big Ten player of the year Devin Taylor and Hogan DennyPreseason Big Ten freshman of the year.

Taylor is a potential top ten overall pick for this upcoming 2025 MLB Draft. Indiana's captain and lead off hitter, Taylor led the Big Ten with 20 home runs. Junior outfielder Devin Taylor also had a batting average of .357 and had 54 RBI's.

Indiana baseball also returns second baseman Jasen Oliver and shortstop Tyler Cerny, who earned all-conference honors last year, as well as catcher Jake Stadler and third baseman Josh Pyne, who both received over 150 at-bats in 2024 according to Baseball America

Hoosiers manager Jeff Mercer is entering his seventh season with Indiana and has an overall record of (175-125-1). In 2024, Indiana baseball made the Knoxville Regional tournament and went 1-2 in the double elimination regional. Indiana defeated Southern Mississippi, but lost to host and eventual national champions Tennessee, and then was eliminated in a rematch with Southern Miss.

Indiana opens the season on Valentine's Day next Friday (Feb. 14) against UNLV at the Sanderson Ford College Baseball Classic in Surprise, Arizona.
