Hoosiers senior quarterback Kurtis Rourke placed ninth in voting for the Heisman Trophy tonight after a historic season at Indiana.

He transferred to Indiana last December to boost his NFL draft stock in a Power 4 conference after five years at Ohio University, where he began as a backup to his older brother Nathan, who currently plays in the Canadian Football League.

Rourke completed 70.4 percent of his passes for 2,827 yards, 27 touchdowns, and four interceptions over 11 starts this season, going 10-1. He is coming off his best performance of his career as he threw a record six touchdown passes in a 66-0 win over the Purdue Boilermakers.

Rourke's senior season and career aren't quite finished yet. His No. 10 seed Hoosiers (11-1) will head to South Bend (IN) to face the No. 7 seed Notre Dame Fighting Irish (11-1) on Dec. 20th to open the College Football Playoffs on ABC/ESPN at 8pm E.T

Rourke Indiana’s highest ranked Heisman finalist since running back Tevin Coleman finished seventh in 2014. Here's a list of Indiana's top finishers in the Heisman Trophy voting all time.
