Back in July, Curt Cignetti secured a big recruiting victory for the Indiana Hoosiers with the commitment of 4-star QB Lukas Prock. Hailing from Princeton, NJ, Prock is one of the biggest names in the 2028 recruiting cycle. Cignetti was able to land a commitment after a closely-contested recruiting battle that included other finalists Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Florida.
With Prock now into his junior season at Hun High School, he continues to give Hoosier football fans plenty to be excited about.

Through the first five games of his junior season, Prock has posted some eye-popping numbers. In total, he has completed 87 of 117 pass attempts, which is good for a completion percentage of 74.4%. He's racked up 2,014 passing yards to go along with 23 touchdowns and just a single interception. Prock has also added 77 yards and a pair of touchdowns on just 4 rushing attempts.
Owning a 6'2" 190-pound frame, Prock threw for 4,330 yards and 41 touchdowns with 7 interceptions as a sophomore last season. After the impressive start he is off to in 2026, the IU commit is poised to exceed those numbers this season.
Thanks to his eye-popping start to the season, Prock has continued to climb up the national recruiting rankings. At the time of his commitment, he was ranked as the No. 7 quarterback and No. 68 overall prospect in the country by Rivals. Just a few weeks into his junior season, Prock has risen a significant amount in those rankings. Now he is heralded as the No. 6 quarterback and No. 42 overall player for the 2028 recruiting class in the Rivals300 rankings. If he keeps this level of production up, he may not be done rising.

It's no secret that Cignetti has an elite ability to get the most out of his quarterbacks. Since taking the James Madison job in 2019, all of Cignetti's quarterbacks have posted career years with phenominal stats and big recognition.

At James Madison, Cignetti coached Ben DiNucci and Cole Johnson to CAA Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2019 and 2021, Todd Centeio to Sun Belt Player of the Year honors in 2022, and Jordan McCloud to Sun Belt Player of the Year recognition in 2023. Upon arriving in Bloomington, Cignetti led Kurtis Rourke to Second Team All-Big Ten honors in 2024. The of course, Cignetti coached Fernando Mendoza to the Heisman Trophy in 2025. That kind of elite production at the quarterback position makes Cignetti and Indiana the envy of college football fans across the country.
IIndiana QB coach Tino Sunseri has also played a key role in the development of Indiana's QBs over the past 2+ seasons. Sunseri took on a leading role in Prock's recruitment, and Prock is excited about his potential with Sunseri as his QB coach.
“When I first met him a few months ago, he immediately jumped off as very energetic and very interested in me," Prock said of Sunseri to Rivals earlier this summer. “ I love the way his mind works. He did a great job breaking down complicated stuff and making it easy for me to learn. I feel like he’s going to be a great teacher for me in the future, and I’m fired up to work with him every day.”
It will still be over a year and a half before Prock steps on campus, but his hype continues to build. His talent speaks for itself, and having coaches like Cignetti and Sunseri as mentors could lead Prock to great heights in Bloomington.
