The Indiana men’s soccer program enters the 2025 season ranked 11th by theUnited Soccer Coaches preseason poll released earlier this week.
The Hoosiers finished the 2024 season with an 11-5-5 record, clinching a share of the regular seasonBig Ten championship but failed to advance when they lost to the University of Denver in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
The Hoosiers returned to the NCAA Tournament for the 49th time in program history, its 38th consecutive appearance. Indiana earned the No. 14 national seed, the program's 24th seed all-time and the 10th in 11 seasons total. IU advanced to the third round for the 43rd time in program history.
Indiana and head coach Todd Yeagley will have to replace a ton of talent up front at the forward and midfielder positions, as 25 of the 41 goals came from players who graduated in 2024-25.
Goalkeeper JT Harms, defenders Jansen Miller and Quinton Elliot will also need to be replaced not to mention, midfielder Patrick McDonald and forwards Sam Sarver, Justin Weiss and Tommy Mihalic.
The storied Indiana men's soccer program is one of the true blue bloods in all of NCAA. They have accomplished many feats since 1973 including:
- 52 All-Americans
- 6 Hermann Trophy winners, including Ken Snow, who won twice in 1998 and 2000.
- Most College Cup appearances (22), including 22 Final Four appearances
- Eight NCAA National Championships, the second-most in Division I soccer. These were won in 1982, 1983, 1988, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2004, and 2012.
- 16 Big Ten Tournament titles since the conference started sponsoring men's soccer in 1991.
- 18 Regular Season Big Ten Championships, including nine consecutive titles from 1996 to 2004.
Indiana kick's off their season against No. 20 Western Michigan at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington.
The Hoosiers will also host No. 9 Clemson on Aug. 21 at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington in a top 25 matchup to kick-off the season.
