Indiana Hoosiers men’s soccer’s season came to an end on Saturday afternoon in Denver, in a 1-0 loss.
The No. 14 national seeded Hoosiers lost 1-0 to the No. 3 seed Denver in regulation in the round-of-16 of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
"Denver's ninth-minute goal was the difference, as a clearance from a Pioneer cross deflected off a Hoosier and into the path of the goal scorer. Indiana dominated play in the second half but could not convert its chances."
Indiana returned to the NCAA Tournament for the 49th time in program history, its 38th consecutive appearance. IU earned the No. 14 national seed, the program's 24th seed all-time and the 10th in 11 seasons total. The Hoosiers advanced to the third round for the 43rd time in program history.
“You can’t really sum it up in a postgame talk,” Indiana head coach Todd Yeagley said after the loss to the Pioneers.
Indiana and coach Yeagley will have to replace a boat load of talent up front, as 25 of the 41 goals came from players who are now out of eligibility and will graduate.
