Mike Woodson and his Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team had their best shooting performance of the season with a dominate victory over Sam Houston State, 97-71 at home last night.
Redshirt sophomore guard Myles Rice led the way with 19 points, while senior forward Luke Goode added a career-high 18 points off the bench. Junior forward Malik Reneau and sophomore small forward Mackenzie Mgbako also scored in double figures with 18 and 13 points apiece respectfully.
The Hoosiers also shot a staggering 61.8% from the field and 46.7% from 3-point range.
The bench play was also a major factor with Goode, Anthony Leal and Bryson Tucker giving more than solid minutes but pure production off the bench. Goode had 18 points as mentioned before, Leal had four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Tucker had eight points and three assists.
βThe energy they gave early coming off the bench. I mean, they were into it and did a lot of good things, especially on the defensive end to get us a nice little cushion going into halftime. I thought they had a lot to do with it,β Woodson said.
Indiana (6-2) will next host Miami (Ohio) on Friday evening in Bloomington at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
