Indiana Hoosiers land commit Ryland Gandy from Pittsburgh

Another day another transfer heading to play for Curt Cignetti in Bloomington (Indiana)

Indiana has added another transfer in former Pittsburgh defensive back Ryland Gandy for the 2025 season.

Gandy had 40 tackles, one pass break-up, and 0.5 tackles for loss in 13 games in the 2024 season for the Panthers.

He took an official visit to Indiana last week and was reported to have visits to Michigan, North Carolina and Ole Miss on his radar but he decided upon on the Hoosiers.

Ryland Gandy finished his Pitt career with 47 tackles (28 solo), a tackle for loss and two pass breakups in three seasons total.

Gandy a native of Buford (GA) committed to Pittsburgh and Pat Narduzzi as a top three-star recruit in the class of 2022, choosing the Panthers over Arkansas, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, USC, Virginia Tech and West Virginiaper 247 Sports

Gandy played the third-most defensive snaps last year (690) for Pitt.

According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed 27 catches on 51 targets for 546 yards and three touchdowns.

Gandy, who has two seasons of eligibility remaining, will be in a loaded cornerback room, with the expected return of D'Angelo Ponds, Jamier Johnson and Jamari Sharpe. IU also added Northern Illinois' defensive back ' Amariyun Knighten.
