On Monday night, the National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame announced the list of 79 players and nine coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision, along with 100 players and 35 coaches from the divisional ranks, who are on the 2025 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. The ballot was sent to over 12,000 NFF members and current Hall of Famers. The votes will be tabulated and submitted to the NFF's Honors Court to select the 2025 Hall of Fame class.
Included on the ballot was former Hoosier star Antwaan Randle El.
Randle El played in the NFL for nine years with Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders (formerly Redskins) , winning a Super Bowl with the Steelers in 2005.
In college at Indiana, Randle El earned All-Big Ten honors in 1999, 2000 and 2001, and Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 1998. He was also an AP All-American in 2001, finishing 6th in the Heisman Trophy race.
Randle El was the first player in NCAA history to score 40 touchdowns (45) and throw for 40 touchdowns (42), first to record over 2,500 total yards in four seasons, first to pass for over 6,000 yards and rush for over 3,000 yards.
The former Indiana Hoosier legend, spent four seasons as the Detroit Lions wide receivers coach. Randle El was hired as the assistant head coach and wide receivers coach for the Chicago Bears in 2025, as first reported by Adam Schefter.
The 2025-26 season will be Randle El's seventh season coaching in the NFL, following his time with the Detroit Lions and his first two years as an offensive assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he helped win Super Bowl LV with Tom Brady.
The announcement of the 2026 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class will be made in early 2026, with specific details to be announced in the future.
