Darian DeVries has done a solid job of revamping Indiana's roster for the 2026-27 season. With just one returning player from last year's team, DeVries has added a group of six transfer through the portal that makes up the top portal class in the country according to On3.

Furthermore, IU's incoming 2026 recruiting class features a trio of top-80 players who could all see substantial playing time in the fall.
DeVries has a few more roster spots to fill, and he is likely to utilize the transfer portal to find another player or two for next year's roster. At the same time, he is targeting a high school playmaker who was previously committed to an SEC team.
Indiana among top-6 finalists for Ladarius Givan
According to Sam Keyser of League Ready, Indiana is among the final-6 contenders for 2026 forward Ladarius Givan. The 6'9" 215-pound forward had been committed to Mississippi State since his sophomore season, but opened his recruitment back up this past January. DeVries wasted no time extending Givan an offer.
The Hoosiers are joined in Givan's final-6 contenders by LSU, Seton Hall, NC State, UCF, and Mississippi State.

Hailing from Richmond, VA, Givan is rated as a 4-star prospect by ESPN and a 3-star prospect by both 247Sports and Rivals. This past season, he averaged a double-double as he recorded 15.5 points and 12.1 rebounds per game for Petersburg High School.
That kind of skill set would make for a great addition to Indiana's frontcourt, which continues to be a point of emphasis for DeVries this offseason. IU brought in Aiden Sherrell from Alabama and Samet Yigitoglu from SMU to revamp the frontcourt, and adding Givan to the mix could provide great depth to that key area of the 2026-27 roster.
As Kayser notes, Given most recently visited UCF but is slated to head up to Bloomington soon. As DeVries continues to round out IU's roster for next season, Givan's recruitment is worth keeping an eye on.
