Indiana football earned their highest ranking in the College Football Playoff poll Tuesday night, ranking them at No. 2 nationally behind Ohio State. It's been a discussion about Indiana being ranked even higher at the top spot over Ohio State and Texas A&M.

The Big Ten saw seven total schools ranked and three programs in the top-10 of the initial CFP rankings: Ohio State (No. 1), Indiana (No. 2), Oregon (No. 9), USC (No. 19), Iowa (No. 20), Michigan (No. 21) and Washington (No. 23).

The Committee will continue to release a new bracket and rankings each week until the final CFP is confirmed on Dec. 7th.

Here are some fan reactions around social media about Indiana's No. 2 rankings Tuesday night.

The Indiana Hoosiers are officially No. 2 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2025-26 season. Indiana is ranked right behind No. 1 Ohio State and right in front of No. 3 Texas A&M. This is the highest CFP ranking in schools history.

There seems to be a huge debate about the "BIG 3" Ohio State, Indiana and Texas A&M look to be the consensus top three teams that have no losses. Alabama might have the best resume but the worst and only loss to a 4-4 Florida State team. Indiana has beaten No. 9 Oregon (road), No. 20 Iowa (road) and Illinois who isn't currently ranked but beat them 63-10 when they were No. 9 in the nation.

The first College Football Playoff rankings have Indiana projected to face the winner of No. 7 BYU or No. 10 Notre Dame. Indiana would receive a first round bye and then a second round neutral site matchup up with the Cougars or a rematch with Notre Dame who beat Indiana in the CFP last season in South Bend.

Ohio State may be the consensus No. 1 team, defending champions, with a ton of NFL Draft prospects and All-Americans but some people think Indiana still are deserving of the top spot in the rankings. The Buckeyes do have two wins over top 25 teams in No. 10 Texas (home) and No. 23 Washington (road).

Who has the single best win of the season? Is it Ohio State beating Texas in week 1, Texas A&M beating Notre Dame in South Bend week 2, or Indiana over Oregon when they went to Euguene and won 30-20?

The haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate... in the words of Miss Taylor Swift. Everyone always wants to knock you off when you're at the top. The commenter says Indiana fans are complaining a little too much but we don't see it that way. We just want national respect like everyone else but as always it starts and ends on the field.
