Indiana Hoosiers head men’s basketball coach Darian DeVries announced the hiring of assistant coach Rod Clark to his staff on Thursday.
Clark has spent the last four seasons under Rick Barnes at Tennessee. The Tennessee Volunteers went 109-36 in his four seasons and with a 51-21 record in SEC play during his tenure. The Vols also made the NCAA Tournament in each season with Clark.
Clark appeared with the rest of DeVries’ staff at the Hoosiers Connect fundraising event at Huber’s Winery, Orchard and Vineyard on Thursday.
“Rod is a great young coach that we are excited to have in Bloomington,” DeVries said in a press release. “The programs he has worked with have always been among the nation’s best on the defensive side of the ball. He is a proven recruiter that has produced high-level college basketball players, including multiple conference players of the year and All-Americans.”
"He will, I am sure, do a good job at Indiana," Rick Barnes said at the Big Orange Caravan in Nashville
Indiana previously hired Nick Norton, Kenny Johnson and Drew Adams as three assistant coaching hires under coach Darian DeVries. The Hoosiers are expected to confirm support staff in the next week.
Before coaching at Tennessee, Clark was at the University of Illinois-Chicago for one season before he was hired at Austin Peay for the 2020-21 season. He previously coached at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas, from 2017 to 2019.
