UNLV baseball defeated the Indiana Hoosiers 13-12 on Monday to end a miserable holiday weekend out in the desert.
Ranked No. 25 in two different national preseason polls, led by Big Ten preseason player of the year Devin Taylor the Indiana Hoosiers baseball program was looking for a promising start in Surprise, Ariz.
But, Indiana baseball was humbled quickly after the got swept this week and now are off to an 0-4 start to the 2025 season.

In the four games played in Surprise, Ariz. at Surprise Stadium, the spring training home of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers, Indiana lost 4-2 to the UNLV Rebels on Friday, then lost to 8-6 to Xavier Musketeers in extra innings (10) on Saturday. To end the weekend the Hoosiers lost to No. 7 Oregon State 6-0 on Sunday, only recording 1 hit on the Beavers pitching staff and then dropped a high scoring nail-bitter to UNLV in 10 innings on Monday afternoon, 13-12.
Head coach Jeff Mercer and Indiana baseball are scheduled to play their home opener versus Purdue Fort Wayne on Wednesday. Indiana then takes on Northwestern in Cary, N.C. at 4 p.m. ET on Friday. Indiana is scheduled to play the Northwestern Wildcats, Fordham Rams and the Harvard Crimson during their three-game trip to North Carolina.
