A plethora of former Indiana Hoosiers are making their mark in the NFL. The Hoosiers set a program record by having eight players drafted in the 2026 NFL Draft back in April, and a total of 18 former Hoosiers made NFL 53-man rosters coming out of training camp.

Hoosiers in the NFL: Highlights from Week 1

Several rookies, including 49ers RB Kaelon Black and Chiefs OT Kahlil Benson have already been turning heads through one game of the young season. Black ran 14 times for 65 yards in his NFL debut against the Rams, while Benson became the first undrafted player to start for the Chiefs in Week 1 during the Andy Reid era. He made the most of his opportunity, as he didn't allow a single pressure over the course of 34 pass-blocking snaps.

Other notable performances from Week 1 include Omar Cooper Jr. recording a 30-yard reception for the Jets, while Myles Price had a strong season opener for the Vikings. He totaled 179 yards on five kick returns, which included an impressive 68-yard return in the 3rd quarter.
