Joel Klatt, FOX Sports College Football's lead play-by-play commentator, discussed the Indiana Hoosiers potential for the upcoming 2025 season on his latest podcast, "The Joel Klatt Show: A College Football Podcast".
"I don't think Indiana's going anywhere, much to the chagrin of some. Indiana was totally a Cinderella last year, but it returns many key contributors from that team, such as defensive end Mikail Kamara, linebacker Aiden Fisher and cornerback D'Angelo Ponds. Offensively, wide receiver Elijah Sarratt and four starters along the line return. On top of all that, Indiana got former Cal quarterback Fernando Mendoza, the No. 4 quarterback in the portal. I think Mendoza's going to have a really good year."
Head coach Curt Cignetti is looking to build on his historic first season in Bloomington after going 11-2 last season. Cignetti and his staff have built another team with high potential for 2025-26 season.
ESPNβs Mark Schlabach published his β2025 post-spring Way-Too-Early Top 25 rankingsβ on Thursday and ranked Indiana in as the preseason No. 17 team. While Joel Klatt ranked Indiana as high as No. 21 in his personal updated spring rankings.
