Former Indiana Men's Basketball Stars James Blackmon Jr and Yogi Ferrell Added To Assembly Ball TBT Team Roster

Yogi Ferrell and James Blackmon Jr will be part of Assembly Ball's roster in TBT this summer.

Former Indiana star men's basketball players James Blackmon Jr and Yogi Ferrell have announced they will play for the Indiana Hoosiers alumni team "Assembly Hall" this upcoming summer in the TBT League.

“Hoosier fans, I’d like to announce I’m back. I’ll be with the team this summer – Assembly Ball,” Blackmon said in a video. “I’m excited to see everyone there.”

The Assembly Ball alumni team, featuring former Indiana players, will co-host the Indianapolis Regional in July’s TBT Tournament at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

This will be Yogi Ferrell's return to Assembly Ball for a second straight season, after leading the team to a regional championship appearance in 2024 and scoring 20.3 points per game. Ferrell will be joined by James Blackmon Jr., alongside whom Ferrell played two of his four seasons in Bloomington.

This will be Blackmon’s first time participating in the TBT with Assembly Ball.

Blackmon a former McDonald's All-American in 2014, played at Indiana from 2014-17. He averaging16.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists for the Tom Crean-led Hoosiers.

The Philadelphia 76ers signed Blackmon Jr in 2017 but was cut from the final roster and sent down to the G League affiliate Delaware 87ers. He also played in the G League for the Wisconsin Herd for a season before heading to Europe to play in Italy and Turkey from 2019-2023.

Yogi Ferrell also a former McDonald's All-American was a five-star recruit in high school in 2012. Ferrell played point guard for the Indiana Hoosiers from 2012-16, where he averaged 14.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists during his Indiana career.

Ferrell had a five-year NBA career with the Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers from 2016-21, over that span he averaged 7.7 points per game.

Since his days in the NBA, Ferrell has played in Europe since 2021 and is currently on the roster for KK Budućnost in Serbia (Montenegro).
