Former Indiana Hoosiers Defensive Back Jaylin Williams Signs to CFL Roster

The former Hoosier DB also played with the Minnesota Vikings' in 2023 and 2024

The BC Lions announced this week that former Indiana Hoosier defensive back Jaylin Williams has signed with the CFL team per team released statement

Jaylin Williams signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an un drafted free agent in the 2023 season and appeared in three regular-season games with the team, recording one tackle.

Williams spent the majority of the 2024 season on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad before being released after the mid way point of the season.

In 55 games, over a five year span with the Indiana Hoosiers from 2016-21, Williams had 155 combined tackles (120 solo, 35 assisted), 6.5 tackles for a loss, six interceptions, two sacks, 30 pass deflections and one fumble recovery.

Williams also earned Second-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2020 and honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2021.

The B.C Lions finished with a 9-9 overall record last season, they finished 3rd overall in the Western Division before eventually losing in the semi-finals of the Canadian Football League playoffs. The B.C Lions fell in defeat to the Saskatchewan Roughriders 29-18.

Some other notable players on the B.C Lions roster are quarterbacks Vernon Adams Jr., Chase Brice and Nathan Rourke who is the older brother of Kurtis Rourke who led Indiana to an 11-2 record and College Football Playoff berth this season under first year head coach Curt Cignetti.
