Former Indiana Guard Myles Rice Transfers To Maryland

Myles Rice transfers to third school in three seasons as he commits to Maryland

Former Indiana guard Myles Rice has found a new home in the Big Ten Conf as he is now set to transfer to the Maryland Terrapins.

Rice announced via his Instagram account that he is headed to Maryland. It will be Rice's third school in three seasons, as he previously played for Washington State and Indiana.

This is Buzz Williams first transfer in the portal since taking over as head coach on April 1st, Williams left Texas A&M for Maryland after leading the Aggies to the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2024-25.

Rice, a 6-foot-2 redshirt sophomore, averaged 10.1 points, 2.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game in his lone season with the Hoosiers, appearing in 32 games, with 25 starts.

Rice transferred to Indiana after a three-year career at Washington State. He redshirted the 2021-22 season and medically redshirt the following season as he received treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

He was named to the All-Pac-12 first team and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year after averaging 14.8 points, 3.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game at Washington State in Pullman.

Maryland finished the 2024-25 season with a 27-9 record, finishing second in the Big Ten and reaching the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 before losing to No. 1-seed University of Florida.

Rice is the fourth Indiana transfer to commit to a new school this off-season, with Reneau headed to Miami, Jakai Newton signing with Georgia State and Cupps committed to Ohio State.
