Tom Loy of 247Sports has put in a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Colorado Buffaloes for Lewis with a six out of ten confidence rating.
On3's Steve Wiltfong reported that "Julian is really liking Colorado." Part of the Buffaloes' recruiting pitch is the opportunity to replace current quarterback Shedeur Sanders after he leaves for the NFL draft. Should Lewis decide to flip, where will USC turn to in recruiting a quarterback so late in the cycle?
The USC Trojans landed Lewis’ commitment in August last year, but Colorado, Indiana and Auburn have since made strong pushes for the Georgia native. Lewis, a five-star prospect has visited Boulder numerous times throughout his recruitment, including last month for the Buffs’ home game against Cincinnati. He recently cancelled two visits to Bloomington which makes us believe that the Trojans and Hoosiers will lose out on Lewis.
According to the 247Sports composite, Lewis is the No. 5 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior signal-caller at Carrollton High School (GA) has thrown for 2,549 yards, 36 touchdowns and four interceptions this season. Lewis’ Trojans finished their regular season 10-0 and are now preparing for the Georgia 6A state tournament.
Led by Curt Cignetti, the Indiana coaching staff has had four straight quarterbacks earn conference player of the year honors going back to their time at James Madison. Current IU quarterback Kurtis Rourke has a chance to be the fifth.
IU has not landed a class of 2025 quarterback but their room should be solid next year with Tayven Jackson, who will be a redshirt junior in 2025, and former four-star Tyler Cherry and Alberto Mendoza, who will both be redshirt freshmen.
