Indiana was up big on Michigan 17-3 at the half and could the Wolverines did not build enough momentum in the second half to pull ahead and get to bowl eligibility. Now, they head into a bye week before playing Northwestern on Nov. 23 with a 5-5 record.

With the offense struggling, Indiana’s defense had a solid afternoon, limiting Michigan to 206 yards of offense.  The Hoosiers didn’t have a sack, but they posted four tackles for loss, eight pass breakups, and three QB hits.  Michigan QB Davis Warren completed just 50 percent of his throws, and the Wolverines averaged just two yards per carry.

The Hoosiers are one of the biggest surprises in college football under first-year coach Curt Cignetti, starting 10-0 for the first time in program history. He largely built his team from the transfer portal, adding 31 players from other schools, including 21 with at least three years of college experience.
