The college basketball transfer portal has produced plenty of intriguing storylines across the country. In Bloomington, Hoosier basketball fans are following along closely with the portal additions Darian DeVries makes, as well as former Hoosiers who are on the move.

With his new portal commitment, former Indiana basketball player Logan Duncomb is back in the Hoosier State, but not with the cream and crimson.

Duncomb is on his way to South Bend to play for the Fighting Irish in 2026-27, which will be his final collegiate season.

Duncomb's college basketball career has been a long and winding journey. He was originally recruited to Indiana by Archie Miller, and spent the first two seasons of his career playing for Mike Woodson in Bloomington. He played just 18 games for the Hoosiers over the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, and his sophomore season was cut short due to a major sinus infection.

He transferred out of Indiana following the 2022-23 season, and ended up at Xavier. However, he left the Musketeers before the season began due to health reasons and missed the entire 2023-24 season.

Duncomb then headed south to join the Winthrop Eagles for the 2024-25 season. He appeared in 24 games and averaged just 3.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. But then the breakout came.

Seemingly out of nowhere, Duncomb earned 2026 Big South Conference Player of the Year honors after averaging 18.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game this past season. The 6'10" center shot 60% from the floor, and broke the Winthrop single-season record for free throws made with 194. On the season, Duncomb posted 14 double-doubles and scored 20 or more points on 14 different occasions.

Now heading back to The Hoosier State, Duncomb has a chance to prove himself at the high-major level. He figures to see significant minutes for Micah Shrewsberry's squad throughout the 2026-27 season.
